Assembly Election 2022 Updates: Chief Electoral Officer Shri Kunal IAS  Announce Election Dates in Goa

The Election Commission of India begins its press conference to announce dates for assembly polls in five states. The states that will go for polling are Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Goa, and Manipur.

The Chief Electoral Officer Shri Kunal IAS, Goa Addressed Press Conference on Saturday at Conference Hall Office of the Chief Electoral Officer Altinho Panaji. The election to the 40-member Goa Legislative Assembly is due as the term of the current Goa Assembly will expire on March 15. Goa Assembly Election will be conducted in one phase, i.e. in the second phase of the Assembly Elections 2022. The date of polling in Goa is February 14, 2021. A total of 40 Assembly constituencies in Goa will be going to polls to elect the MLAs for the next Goa state assembly.

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sushil Chandra along with Election Commissioners Rajiv Kumar and Anup Chandra Pandey addressed a press conference on Saturday:  All election officials and employees will be considered as frontline workers and all eligible officers will be vaccinated with 'precautionary dos. It is mandatory for political parties to upload on their website detailed information regarding individuals with pending criminal cases selected as poll candidates. They will also have to give a reason to select the candidate.  Elections to be held for 403 assembly seats in UP, 117 in Punjab, 70 in Uttarakhand 60 in Manipur and 40 in Goa.
